Viva Chavez, I Guess.

Atrios links to this TPM Cafe post about Venezuela and the continuing effort to discredit Chavez. I'm not a Chavez fanatic but with all the nonsense that's being written about him, it's hard not to support the guy. I figure he must be doing something right to piss off the world's wealthy elite so completely. Mark Weisbrot's TPM Cafe post debunks some of the nonsense.

I like him. He's a little strident but hell, like some of the rhetoric coming out of the US, isn't!

Interestingly Weisbrot does not disclose that he has been broght to Venezuela on a number of occasions by the Venezuelan government and/or Venezuelan state agencies, in particular, the Central Bank of Venezuela. Why is this??
