UPDATE: Don't bother reading this post or anyting on the left or the right about the silly fish story told by a dangerously silly man. Go read what AltHippo found out about the paper that did the interviewing.
A blogger who writes at Seixon is having a fit because the liberal media is accurately reporting the fact that BushCo, when asked by a German paper to name the greatest moment in his presidency, thought that it would be appropriate to make a joke about the time he caught a big ol' fish in some lake. The blogger is especially upset because not enough librul news outlets are charactizing the response as a joke. And we know it was a joke because in the original German, "(lacht)" appears after the answer:
Wissen Sie, ich habe viele großartige Momente erlebt. Es fällt mir schwer, die großartigsten zu benennen. Ich würde sagen, der allerbeste Moment war, als ich einen Siebeneinhalb-Pfund-Barsch aus meinem See geangelt habe. (lacht)
No fair! The blogger wails. Besides, the AP says it was a bass, not a perch and so Daddy wasn't lying. And, and ... and ... two years ago, when he was asked a similar question he answered without telling an idiotic joke about a fish he didn't catch:
Q -- they had arrested Saddam, was this the best moment of your presidency?
THE PRESIDENT: It was a big moment in my presidency. No, I wouldn't say it's the best moment. The best moment happened when -- you know, when I meet people who do heroic things, whether it's to help somebody who hurts or whether it's a generous citizen who lifts up the spirit of a person. And I fully realize that those thousands of acts of kindness lift up the whole spirit of the country. Those are the best moments.
See? He doesn't only speak in jokes and lies. He also speaks in disjointed sentences littered with meaningless platitudes. But go read the whole interview, by all means. BushCo is at his most trite and dishonest.
Here's the bottom line for BushCo Cultists everywhere: We are sick of this president for whom everything is a joke or a cliche better suited for a greeting card. We are embarrassed by this man who thinks that the presidency of the United States requires the same skill set as a greeter at Harrah's or a game show host. We do not enjoy being represented abroad by this moron who, when asked to name the highlight of his miserable reign thus far, thought that a joke about catching a fish would be the appropriate response.
On the other hand, it took some real courage for Dear Leader to remind the world that the worst attack on the US in our history happened on his watch because of his inability to process intelligence correctly. Maybe he could tell us a joke about what he was doing on August 6th, when he should have been reading PDBs and doing his job. I'm sure the country would think it's a hoot.

I am sick of this President as well - too bad he is really chummy with our (Australian) PM, John Howard. Mr Howard will pay another visit to his close friend George W. later this week.
