Joe Sestak is putting together a fearsome Election Day plan. He's already got 576 people volunteering to watch the polls. From his email:
I want to thank the 576 new polling place workers who will make this election the most secure in recent memory. Through your effort, we will have a presence at every polling place district wide. This week we will conduct training for every polling place worker.
I'm not sure how secure he expects the elections to be since his county, Delaware, will be voting on the unsecure, error-prone Danaher machines that can't be independently verified.
Full text of email is posted in the extended entry.
Also Sestak-related: Be sure to see his new ad that takes on Weldon's swiftboating. It's different from Murphy's but just as good.
Speaking of Murphy in the 8th, he's trying to put Social Security in play. I wish he'd talk about Medicare Part D as well.
Dear Friend,
With just over two weeks to go and a lead in the most recent independent polls, this campaign has achieved a great deal. Thank you for all you have done to help bring us to this point.
However, to win on Tuesday, November 7th, we must win two components of Election Day. First, we must ensure an organization is in place to guarantee the electoral process is fairly and competently managed. Second, we must be certain that everyone who wants a change in Washington gets out to vote. This GOTV effort will be the difference between winning and losing.
The first requirement to win on Election Day is that we have a sound organization at every polling place. That 6 month effort is nearing completion. I want to thank the 576 new polling place workers who will make this election the most secure in recent memory. Through your effort, we will have a presence at every polling place district wide. This week we will conduct training for every polling place worker. I will attend each training session and look forward to seeing you at the following places and times:
DELAWARE COUNTY:
- Thursday, October 26th 11am - 1pm: Media Borough Hall
- Sunday, October 29th 7:30 - 9:30pm: Media Borough Hall
- Monday, October 30th 7:30 - 9:30pm: Media Borough Hall
MONTGOMERY COUNTY:
- Thursday, October 26th 7:30 - 9:30pm: AFL-CIO Headquarters (3031 Walton Rd., Plymouth Meeting)
- Makeup Session: TBA
CHESTER COUNTY:
- Tuesday, October 24th 7:30 - 9:30pm: Stetson Middle School Auditorium (1060 Wilmington Pike, West Chester)
- Thursday, October 26th 7:30 - 9:30pm: 1404 Evergreen Lane, Berwyn
The second requirement to win Election Day is the execution of a comprehensive 84 hour GOTV program culminating when the polls close on Election Day. That program requires the participation of over two thousand volunteers. At present we have over 1,368 commitments -- and if you have not been called and have not "signed up" for one of these positions in the past week, please consider yourself as still needed, and contact us immediately to help. We are looking for every available supporter age 16 and up to help as drivers, canvass team members, phone bankers, and election protection officials. Each position is crucial to ensuring the hard work we have all done the past 9 months is not lost on Election Day.
For those who have signed on, thank you. For everyone else, my final 'ask' of this campaign is that you make yourselves available, for some time from 9am Saturday through 9pm Election Day -- the election depends on you. To volunteer for our GOTV and Election Day program, contact us immediately at info@sestakforcongress.com.

Can you give me a quick geography lesson? Where is Delaware County? In the Philly area? And I assume the Murphy race is also in that area?
