A Tiny Bit of Perspective

I asked my husband what he thinks the big story about John Edwards is.  This is what he said:

He hired people he used to hate ... to work on his ad campaign?

I asked my co-worker what she thought was happening with Edwards.  She saw the headline on CNN and didn't know what bloggers are so she didn't bother reading the story.

My neighbor, who is intelligent, informed and a voter but who doesn't like to pay attention to politics said:

"John Edwards.  There's no news story.   He was the vice president under Kerry and his wife had breast cancer."

My mom's reaction was kind of like your co-worker's. She IM'ed me and said she wouldn't have paid the story any attention but she read about my "blog friends" on my blog so it caught her interest.
