I just heard the NPR morning headlines.
Exxon Mobile has posted the largest annual profit in the history of American business.
The Senate resolution regarding BushCo's War on Iraq was modified to assure Republicans that Democrats wouldn't stop funding troops currently in country. Now that's what I call some yummy GOP framing.
Iran is providing Iraqis with very sophisticated explosives being used to attack US GIs. It won't be the first time a world power provided sophisticated explosives to the enemies of America.

If you haven't already, take a look at Professor Juan Cole's latest article on Salon. Among other things, he says "To begin with, some 99 percent of all attacks on U.S. troops occur in Sunni Arab areas and are carried out by Baathist or Sunni fundamentalist (Salafi) guerrilla groups. Most of the outside help these groups get comes from the Sunni Arab public in countries allied with the United States, notably Saudi Arabia and other Gulf monarchies. Washington has yet to denounce Saudi aid to the Sunni insurgents who are killing U.S. troops."
My guess is that the story about Iran supplying the "enemy" in Iraq is as bogus as Saddam's WMD's.

I agree and on BBC, that's what they're saying. But every hour on the hour NPR listeners get to hear the latest WH press release unencumbered by facts.
