Trade is everything. Let's just get that on the table. It's at the bottom of issues of war and peace, the immigration issue, the problems facing the environment, jobs and, of course, poverty. Poverty is at the bottom of crime, health and healh care, education and nearly every social ill. We all know this. Civilization is a giant, grinding wheel and what drives that wheel is trade. So it's not a small thing that both Clinton and Obama are really, really bad on trade. And it's not a small thing that Obama has been caught lying about his promise to re-negotiate NAFTA. The worst thing about it though is that McCain will benefit. The best thing about it is that if McCain does win, we won't have to cry for too long about all the missed wonders of an Obama Presidency.
