Via Fred Hiatt at the WaPo, a man who has never met a wingnut too batshit crazy to grace his editorial page, we learn what Sarah Palin's real plan for the future is to be a Reagan-esque mouthpiece for the oil industry.( H/T TBogg)
I am deeply concerned about President Obama's cap-and-trade energy plan, and I believe it is an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage.
Of course it would, unlike, say, the Iraq Oil War.
There follows several grafs of straight oil industry propaganda and TP's. Most of them are coherent and not entirely irrational, which more or less conclusively proves that Sarah didn't write any of them. About the only touches of her one recognizes are the reference to how "God created [our energy independence] right underfoot on American soil", leading one to assume that God must have stock in Exxon, and the ill-fated exclamation points she's so proud of, as is any 8th-grader writing her first term paper. The rest is oil industry lobbyist-speak run through a Sarah-filter similar to but less honest than Tina Fey's.
Of course this might just be a temporary gig but on the other hand we might not have Sarah to kick around with any more. No Bimbo Dream Team, Palin/Prejean 2012!!! Yeah Yeah Yeah! No Lone Stranger riding into town to save the latest Republican pervert from scandal. Just another pitchman selling oil policy like a Billy May cleaning product infomercial.
And I was soooo looking forward to them. And to Larry Flynt's movie about her. Oh, well.
