The headline of this CBSNews.com story about the pending release of five of nine Brits being held at Guantanamo Bay is: 5 Gitmo Guests Released to Brits. "Guests"? Has the detention center industry merged with the hospitality industry while I wasn't looking?
ABCNews.com tells us that Laura is BushCo's secret weapon. I think it's more likely Diebold and the imminent October Surprise, but maybe it's his wife. Maybe there's a big pity vote out there just waiting to be tapped. On the campaign: "I don't know if you ever get hardened to it," Mrs. Bush said. "No one wants to see somebody they love characterized in a way that they're not." And if it weren't all the truth, I'd feel mighty sorry for the ol' truth-challenged lump.
Not only did the detention center industry merge with the hospitality industry, but the entire military-industrial complex merged with the travel industry. That's why it's hard to tell if you're entering an airport or a minimum security prison. You have been remrking that the ATM / banking industry is increasing its concentration to include election technology. There's also a conflation of reality and entertaiment, and local radio has all but disappeared into something called "Clear Channel"
Piss poor anti-trust policy, if you ask me.

It's a pro-trust policy so it's working well! Vote Bush!
