Oh come on, Rob. Obviously your playground time was limited.

Throwing pies is NOT 'assault'. It's slapstick, and it's precisely what La Coulter deserves. She should have truckloads of pies thrown at her and on her. They should strew every step she takes, and half of them should be blueberry so the stains won't come out.

If Coulter thinks she deserves sympathy for being 'pied', or that it is in any way akin to 'assault', then she's exactly the humorless automaton she appears to be. Don't, for heaven's sake, aid and abet her prunishness, and btw demean the term 'assault' by applying it to pies.

If Mikhail Gorbychov can get smacked by a pie and laugh, Lil Orphan Annie can do the same. Whoever did it should be applauded. If ever a human being--assuming she is one; the jury's still out--ached for a pie to be thrown at them, Annie C is that h.b.

I know I'm in the small majority on the left on this issue. I don't think I'm demeaning the term "assault" though. Throwing pies is an assault. Worse, the stunt escalated the war of words to a physical one and made it possible for Coulter, who hurts people for a living with her rantings, to rightly cast herself as a victim. Calling the men who did it pranksters is taking a short view. The joke in the end will be on the people who defend them.

Never give a bully and a lier ammuntition, lets face it the know how to use it better than we do.
Ann Coulter is below contempt and certainly does not need or want me to defend her, however, it is always easier to win a battle when your fighting from the high ground. When you lower yourself to their level you lose your advantage.
Where in the world was her security and how could these people get near her with pies?
You are very insightful to see the damage this kind of activity causes and to call attention to it.
I hope others will follow your lead

Compassionate Conservatism in Action

  • "[O]ur time, our energy, should be spent in educating, agitating, organizing our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the neighborhood, in the schools. Our objective should be to build, painstakingly, patiently but energetically, a movement that, when it reaches a certain critical mass, would shake whoever is in the White House, in Congress, into changing national policy on matters of war and social justice."

  • "True religion will not let us fall asleep in the comfort of our freedom. Love thy neighbor is not a piece of advice, it's a command. ...

God, my friends, is with the poor and God is with us, if we are with them. This is not a burden, this is an adventure."

Mr. President, we love America, not because of all of us have seen the beauty all the time.

But we believed if we kept on working, if we kept on marching, if we kept on voting, if we kept on believing, we would make America beautiful for everybody.

A certain 10 percent will ensure its employment anywhere; 20 percent will produce eagerness, 50 percent positive audacity; 100 percent will make it ready to trample on all human laws; 300 percent, and there is not a crime which it will not scruple, nor a risk it will not run, even to the chance of its owner being hanged.''
