Well my personal view is: MBNA is a morally bankrupt company. I personally am suffering their latest move from fixed rate to variable. My rate went from 17% which was already a burdin to heavy to carry to 26% and all they could say was they warned me it would happen. Well if you would like to call someone who more than likely wont give a crap call the OCC @ 1-800-613-6743, Monday - Thursday, 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m., Central Time, and on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Don't email them let them hear your voice. But I think if you want to take the time to mail them a letter via snail mail then that would be good also. Currently the OCC is talking about raising the minimum payment so we can better pay off our debt. Well did they think about mandating a persentage rate for these sharks so we can better pay off our debt. No because they are just for the B in Big Business and that stands for BILLIONS.

The only way to get the attention of Washington and MBNA is for all of the accountholders to withhold payments. The first round would call for everyone to withhold payments just long enough to avoid the late fees. The second round would be 15 days past due dates...lond enough to sting but they still can't trash your credit. If we're all really serious, a strike-like revolt..Nobody Pay Anything 'til the rates are lowered. It would work if 30 to 40% of the account holders participated. The other part of the revolt is easy...Don't vote for anyone who accepts money from MBNA. That would also serve to clean out the trash in Washington.

  • "[O]ur time, our energy, should be spent in educating, agitating, organizing our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the neighborhood, in the schools. Our objective should be to build, painstakingly, patiently but energetically, a movement that, when it reaches a certain critical mass, would shake whoever is in the White House, in Congress, into changing national policy on matters of war and social justice."

  • "True religion will not let us fall asleep in the comfort of our freedom. Love thy neighbor is not a piece of advice, it's a command. ...

God, my friends, is with the poor and God is with us, if we are with them. This is not a burden, this is an adventure."

The Reverend Al Sharpton

Mr. President, we love America, not because of all of us have seen the beauty all the time.

But we believed if we kept on working, if we kept on marching, if we kept on voting, if we kept on believing, we would make America beautiful for everybody.

A certain 10 percent will ensure its employment anywhere; 20 percent will produce eagerness, 50 percent positive audacity; 100 percent will make it ready to trample on all human laws; 300 percent, and there is not a crime which it will not scruple, nor a risk it will not run, even to the chance of its owner being hanged.''
