Someone is going to have to explain to me why this, which is essentially a PR release for Armstrong Williams, is journalism and this, which debunks it, isn't.
If you click through to read the AP story about Williams, you'll find all his talking points set out in easily digestible bites. He didn't know what he was doing. He's not a real journalist, whatever that means. He's very sorry. He's not sorry at all because he's a businessman and this is what businessmen do. He has the support of the people. And, in addtion to telling us that the FCC doesn't having jurisdiction over him, which Sadly, No disproves, he is trying to inflate the meme that he came forward when he realized what he did wasn't kosher. That will be news to the reporter at USA Today, who broke the story thereby forcing Williams out from under his rock.
But this isn't Williams' fault. Fish gotta swim. The fault is with the AP, which lets the lies go unanswered. Makes you wonder who at the AP is on the take. Or rather, who isn't.
