Atrios already has a post up asking for donations for Hackett's campaign. Bob Brigham, at the Swing State Project, is calling the campaign Happy Blogosphere Day to remind us all of the money that blogs were able to raise for Ginny Schrader, who ran for the PA-8th House seat. That fundraising miracle happened a year ago today. It makes a nice story but I wasn't convinced to give until I read Jim Dean at DFA:
Paul Hackett knows what's at stake for all Americans.
As a major in the United States Marine Corps, he left his wife and children in Ohio to serve in Iraq. Paul opposed the war from the beginning, but he answered the call to duty and served his commander in chief in Falluja.
Now he needs your help to get to Congress. Last March, President Bush appointed Hackett's Republican congressman to the post of U.S. Trade Representative -- setting up a special election. Paul saw his chance, and decided to run for Congress to combat right-wing extremism here at home.
Ohio is a snakepit of Republican greed and corruption. (Coingate, election fraud) Hackett's opponent is even caught up in his own scandal. It's starting to look like there isn't an honest Republican politician in all of Ohio.
The Dems need an early win there to set the tone for '06. Give to Hackett's campaign here via Act Blue. You can follow the donations progress here.

$10? Shouldn't that be $10.01? Not that it's necessary here but a good habit I think.
