a real "let them eat cake!" moment!

We hates him!

Word on the street is that the New Orleans paper has been writing for some time that N.O. hasn't been able to improve hurricane/flood prep because of federal dollars diverted to the Iraq war. Finally, proof to blame Katrina on Bush.

Perhaps he shouldhave been "feeling their pain?"

"Finally, proof to blame Katrina on Bush."

You are going to blame the hurricane on President Bush?

Hmmmm, I did not know that (being) the evil ChimpyMcBushHitlerBurton included the ability to call down the rain and the winds from the skies.

It's kinda sad that conservatives can't decipher the difference between saying Bush should be more actively (and publicly) engaged in the Katrina disaster, and actually blaming Bush for nature's way.

But becomnig more and more common...

Actually, please do read Riggsveda's post. He (she?) does blame President Bush for the hurricane.

"Bush should be more actively (and publicly) engaged in the Katrina disaster.."

Would you be happier if he was handing out blankets? What would you have him do to demonstrate a more active and public engagement?

Actually, yeah, I would be happier if he were handing out blankets. Better that as a photo op than strumming a guitar. Or at least in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi doing something presidential.

Predicted category 4 hurricane
+ Bush cutting the levee maintaince 80%
+ flooding not covered by insurance
+ credit cards to double min payment
+ bancruptcy bill
+ corporate media silence
= debt slavery for hundreds of thousands

Meanwhile Cheney is cutting a fat cheque from the huge boost in the value of his Haliburton shares and the oil barons are gauging the nation. No wonder Bush can't wipe that smirk off his face.

I'd be happier if Bush gave away all his money to the poor and then shot himself in the head.

Btw, I love the way Texas' governor is making a big deal of his volunteering to take 25K refugees out of > 1 million. "Go to the Red Cross". Maybe I should be paying 30% of my earnings to THEM instead of the government?

Maybe I should be paying 30% of my earnings to THEM instead of the government?

They'd probably support that plan. Starve the beast!

  • "[O]ur time, our energy, should be spent in educating, agitating, organizing our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the neighborhood, in the schools. Our objective should be to build, painstakingly, patiently but energetically, a movement that, when it reaches a certain critical mass, would shake whoever is in the White House, in Congress, into changing national policy on matters of war and social justice."

  • "True religion will not let us fall asleep in the comfort of our freedom. Love thy neighbor is not a piece of advice, it's a command. ...

God, my friends, is with the poor and God is with us, if we are with them. This is not a burden, this is an adventure."

Mr. President, we love America, not because of all of us have seen the beauty all the time.

But we believed if we kept on working, if we kept on marching, if we kept on voting, if we kept on believing, we would make America beautiful for everybody.
