Chuck Pennacchio, candidate in the race to unseat Man-on-Dog, is calling for debates:
I am calling for a series of seven debates across our state. Like the Lincoln-Douglas Senate debates of 1858, the Pennacchio-Casey debates can help direct a state and nation in a time of crisis and exploration. The questions facing us today are no less important than those that confronted our nation in pre-Civil War America. Moreover, the answers to those crucial questions revolve around the same themes of economic opportunity, legal rights, and national security that enabled our country to emerge from one of the greatest tests -- civil war -- any society can endure.
He's right. We are in precarious times and we do need public debates on important questions facing this country. Seven, seventeen, one hundred seventeen. We need our public officials and candidates for office out everywhere they can be talking to crowds of every size about what threatens our country today. Chuck's willing to do that because he believes that it's the right thing to do and because as the underdog, the publicity will help his campaign. The last thing Casey wants to do is remind voters that someone is running against him. And so he dodges, ducks, dips, dives and dodges to avoid contact with any opponent. From the Patriot News:
Casey's campaign responded that he will debate Santorum and any primary opposition, but said that it's too early.
"First, we need to see who actually qualifies for the Democratic primary," said Jay Reiff, Casey's campaign manager. "Once the primary field is set, we will decide which debate invitations to accept."
That's some bold leadership, Bob. You be sure to bring all that courage of conviction to the race with Man-on-Dog if you get that far. I'm sure the public will respond well to all the hiding and waiting.
who decides when the "primary field is set" anyways? chuck schumer? harry reid?

I would think they are both underdogs to Santorum and could both do with the publicity.

Albert: I wondered the same thing. It's a load of baloney.
David: You're not thinking like a PA Dem! Casey is anti-choice and Catholic and so he as already won the election. They just need to coast until Election Day. Oh yeah, and crush all opposition within the party.

Why do you call him " Man-on-Dog?"

because he feels that homosexuality will undoubtedly lead to man-on-dog relations
