But Kerry's speech is pure bullshit isn't it? Everyone knew Bush was going to war regardless. The only question was whether he'd have taken any notice even if Congress had refused to sign on --- Bush himself had already said he wouldn't.

Iraq an imminent threat? How utterly ridiculous. This speech by Kerry was nothing but ass-covering in case the war went bad. The guy was afraid to take a stand either way. So he stood on the fence and wrapped himself in the flag. He supported the war while saying he only wanted war under impossibly unlikely circumstances. But those were not the circumstances outlined in the bill, and certainly were not what he knew Bush intended.

Enough of this crap that Kerry was fooled by Bush. Nobody is that stupid. And besides Kerry never did speak out did he?

...If he fails to do so, I will be among the first to speak out.

More like the very last to speak out.

Everyone's now saying Bush lied to them but I remember what was said at the time and everyone knew he was a liar. A bad liar at that.

Great comment, DB. I was just about to write about the "among the first to speak out" utter bullshit. Just makes Kerry even more pathetic.

  • "[O]ur time, our energy, should be spent in educating, agitating, organizing our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the neighborhood, in the schools. Our objective should be to build, painstakingly, patiently but energetically, a movement that, when it reaches a certain critical mass, would shake whoever is in the White House, in Congress, into changing national policy on matters of war and social justice."

But we believed if we kept on working, if we kept on marching, if we kept on voting, if we kept on believing, we would make America beautiful for everybody.
