Reid won't allow a vote on the entire Defense Authorization Bill until the GOP stop filibustering the amendments related to Iraq. Again, wow. Given the spin that this will get in the corporate media - there's spending in that bill that helps veterans and troops in the field - this is incredibly ballsy behavior. I have to say that I'm impressed. I hope the Dems have the media and PR strategy ready to back this up.
I wouldn't count on it, I was you. The only thing the Dems have been consistent about is throwing away their advantages.

I hear you but they have to know that if they take even take a small step in that direction the shitstorm will start before they can finish the press conference. They're too cautious, they're owned by corporations, they have no idea how to game the media and they are too trusting of a system that no longer exists but I don't think that they can possibly be that stupid. Maybe this is just a trial balloon. Frankly, after typing this comment, I don't want them to go down this road. It'd be like sending a child into a gang fight. A blind child paralyzed from the waist down.
