Now we get to play the game "Who Could Obama Have Picked Who Would Be Worse for Progressives?" Harry Reid? Nancy Pelosi? John Barrow, certainly. Joe Lieberman would be a lock.
Not that it matters. So Biden is a corporate slug. What's important, as all the papers bleated in unison today, is that Biden has foreign policy experience.
The media narrative, as always, is wrong. Obama chose the corporate candidate, the guy of all the prospects who has the heaviest Wall Street connections (Tim Kaine? Kathy Sibelius? Please), the guy who rammed the bankruptcy bill down middle America's throat on behalf of the banking industry. So what if he supported the Iraq war and voted for Bush's invasion? Let's keep it real: he knows A LOT of bankers.
This is where the Obamaniacs start screaming about Biden's experience and the necessity for BO to counter McCain's "he's not ready for prime time" rap, and all the other excuses they will come up with to support the worst possible choice (except for Lieberman).
Balderdash.
Frankly, I was surprised. I didn't think Obama would be so obvious about the direction he wants to go in. Biden is a dead giveaway. Sing it with me: "I'm a Cor-r-r-r-porate Puppet"....
And, oh yes, lest we forget: Brooks Wants Biden. That was reason enough and should have told us what to expect.
Good thing it don't matter who's Veep, ain't it?
UPDATE: 8/23/08 TMiss reminds us that there's an upside to Biden's joining Obama after all.
