If you blinked, you missed it:
"My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices," Obama said in an interview with The Palm Beach Post.
"If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage — I don't want to be so rigid that we can't get something done."
In order to get that passed, we have to educate the country in terms of an energy policy that doesn't put what's left of our environment at risk. It's what leaders do. They don't do "flexible" with people for whom no reasonable concession is ever enough. But wait, there's hope!
The compromise "would repeal tax breaks for oil companies so that we can invest billions in fuel-efficient cars, help our automakers re-tool, and make a genuine commitment to renewable sources of energy like wind power, solar power, and the next generation of clean, affordable biofuels," Obama noted.
Right. Until it doesn't include that provision because the Dems "just didn't have the votes" to get it done. Blame the other guys, if you can keep track of who they are by now. Or don't. The important thing is that something will have happened and that the Dems looked strong by giving in on every point.
But enough. I'm going out to forget about everything - especially Change I Can Belive In (TM). I'm going to think about cute vampires and how much fun it is to watch my kid and her friend giggle over love stories.
I'm a bit tardy but I'd like to say your previous "Absolutely Brilliant" post was brilliant, this one is good but that one was brilliant.
